Nat: *sigh*
Sorry if you aren't in yet, and I don't want to influence your opinions. But I feel like all the excitement and build-up for what was supposed to be really amazing - is actually a huge let-down.
On the plus side, I have 2 seasons of Criminal Minds to watch.

Kas: Nilah.
Cori: PKZ is an awesome band!!!
Well, I was looking through his songs when I found a huge playlist of French songs--French rap, French pop, French tecno...you name it.
I found an awesome one, by a band called PKZ. It's called Comme ça, and it's amazing. You guys need to look it up. x)

Nat: MY new obsession. ;)
And more specifically:
Matthew Gray Gubler (aka Dr. Spencer Reid).
Yummmmmmm.
Ned. My Favourite People on The Glee Project.
Over all, these are my four favourites.
Cori: Learned a song about a dead rooster today
The class: "Ughhh...."
Madame Cupps: "Oh, come on! Get up! We're going to sing a cool song about a dead rooster!"
The class: "O.o"
Yeah. Kinda weird. And now it's stuck in my head...Anyway! I just now finished the Cause and Effect thing, for my character Altrius. I really understand him now. ^^
I want to add some more parts of his teenage years, of course, but for now...I'm pretty happy with what I've got. Do you guys think that I should write his childhood sometime? I was thinking of writing a prequel before, called Dystopia, but...I dunno.
Hey, you guys don't even know what Altrius LOOKS like! I just realized that. Well, here he is!

Kas: Nat is soooo neglecting the most amazing person ever.
I won't even show you Alex, because I hate him with a fiery passion. Just think of an extremely annoying love child between Mercedes and Kurt. Bleck. So, yeah, I'll be cringing through his 2 episodes.
Ned: New Obsession.
Nicole: Bra shopping!
The agonizing walk of shame through the department store felt as if it were in slow motion. The sound of my heart banging against my chest was all I could hear. It drummed and echoed in my ears. My shoes felt liked they weighed down my feet and I dragged them along the floor.
Each time we passed someone, I thought that it was a face I recognized, and my stomach dropped. Once I realised that it was merely my paranoia, my eyes continued to dart across the store. I could’ve sworn that every other person was sniggering at me like they knew exactly why I was there.
The heater made me feel as if my jumper was clinging to my chest, and a bead of sweat rolled down my face. When we turned into the destination that was my own personal hell, I saw my life flash before my eyes.
I remembered, “seeing the light” when I first came into this world. I remembered my first unrequited love in primary school, and the first excruciating day at high school, with my school dress below my knees. All of the important moments of my life. I remembered when I was eight, and the time my mother found my face smeared with chocolate cake that was meant for my brother’s birthday. I thought my life was going to end then and there by the look on her face. I survived… but this was definitely it. This was the end of me.
I stopped and gulped. My throat was dry.
“Is everything okay sweetie?” Mum put her arm on my back. I nodded. “Oh, this is such a big and exciting day – becoming a young woman!” My mother stood beside me with a proud grin plastered on her face. I cringed in embarrassment.
I stood there for a moment, frozen and mortified. Finally, with the little push from my darling mother, I stepped forward into the bra department.
The frills and lace filled my vision, and the infinite colours made me dizzy. Luckily, there weren’t very many women, and they couldn’t scorn me either because they were there for that exact reason. That still didn’t stop me from bowing my head and stress creating a tight knot in my stomach.
The first thing we passed was the stringy underwear, and my face heated. I knew that I would be as red as a tomato. They were tiny and looked extremely uncomfortable. I wondered then why girls would even bother wearing them…
We turned into another isle and I was bombarded by the biggest knickers I’ve ever encountered. There were rows and rows, and they were a pooey brown, which seemed only fitting for the types of women that would wear them.
Once we passed the mammoth bras that matched the underwear, we rounded yet another corner. I felt as though my mother was doing this to taunt me further, but if I confronted her I knew she’d say it was innocent and all for “experience”. Finally we stopped at the sports bras. My mood dropped further. I thought this was supposed to be a holy, sacred moment in the process of becoming a young woman, and my mother didn’t even want me to get a padded bra like all of my friends already had.
I looked up to see a familiar face, and my nerves almost made me barf. Just when I thought we were safe in the secluded section, my next-door neighbour, who was a year younger than me, smiled at me composedly. She was holding purple bras that were padded. I died... Maybe not literally.
Yay for over dramatic teenage girl cliche ;P. Anyway, I'm pretty happy with it so that's why I thought I'd share.

Heather: It's Back!... Kind of.
Merlin. Season. Four.
It airs in the UK in the fall, and since I'm horrible person and watch it online.... I DON'T HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL THE NORTH AMERICAN RELEASE. Granted, the rest of you (who watch it) probably have/will do that too. Anyway, the video is super crappy quality, but the content is there. And it's real. :D
On the writing front: Blaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah.
On the Heather-is-about-to-vanish-off-the-face-of-the-Earth front: I'm going to my (*cough grandmother's *cough) cottage for like oh... ten days-ish. We leave tomorrow morning, and the cottage does not have power. (Aside from a small generator run to charge cell phones for an hour or so at night.) It's in the middle of the woods. You either have to walk six km in, or boat in. Seriously. No roads. It's super amazing- minus the outhouse. Anyway, what I was getting at with the whole 'no power=no technology' thing is that I shall not update... until I get home.
On the Kas-would-already-know-if-she-you-know-ever-came-online front: The title of this front sums it up preeeeetty well. ;)
Later ladies! Have a good ... two weeks? (If that's even possible without me. I mean, I know I light up your world. (; )

Jamie: 1st day of school...
Allow me to explain. I was up to 1:30AM Pacific Coast time, finishing up my summer homework, so I was tired. I started off the day with (H) Precalculus, and boy was that fun. :P (Hear the sarcasm.) Then, I was worrying about a quiz in AP English 11 that was my fourth period class, so I had all that time to dwell you know. Second, I had Physics, with a bunch of girls and guys I hate, but it's alright, I have one guy friend, David, who sat by me that made it bearable. :D He's awesome.... Anyways! Then I had APUSH, which is my AP US History class where we turned in our three one pagers. It wasn't... horrendous, but could've been better. Then I had the dreaded AP English class, oh how badly I really wanted to run. The rumours are true about it, how hard it is. We took the quick quiz of only two questions on our summer reading, and a friend of mine had an embarrassing moment for her, which I will not post nor tell anyone about that was not in that class. Finally that was over, and Spanish 3 came along with my stupid teacher, who I despise so much and then band which wasn't too bad.
Sorry for just throwing that all out there, but I had to get it out someway, and I figured I might as well make a post on it. By the way, thanks Nicole for the welcoming, and it's no problem for missing the day of my arrival!
My plans on the 500 word count.
Well, seeing as how that hasn't gone well lately, I am hoping to either start that tomorrow or today, depending on how badly I need sleep, which is pretty badly. Anyways, I hope to update more on my book now, and add stuff about it and such...
Oh, and Cori, I remember that email with the time line, I liked it and will most definitely use it!
Sorry for the long post!

Cori: Cause and Effect
I've been wondering why is it that my character, Altrius, acts like he does, and what parts of his life made him that way. So, wanting to know more, I made a Cause and Effect template.
Cause: The thing that happens.
Effect: How the characters around him react to it.
How This Affects Him: How this affects the way Altrius acts, looks, thinks and even dresses.
Pretty cool, eh? I've done the first ten years of his life, and I'll be ending it when he becomes twenty and immortal. My "adopted" little sister, Grayce, hates Altrius because, since I've been working on him for four years now, he's extremely realistic. I think she's jealous xD!
You guys should use the template! It works great.
Nicole: I know, I always seem to die
I'm just posting now to let you guys know that I've developed on one of the ideas I've been sitting on for the past couple of weeks! Here's a small little blurb that I wrote:
There is always goings on in the woods at Eek Creek at night. The lovers meet and canoodle in the dark, while merely a few metres away beasts and creatures prowl. Smugglers go about their business hidden in the depth of the forest, and spies move stealthy through the thickness.
Sixteen-year-old Maggie Peters has no idea of these things that go bump in the night when she’s forced to visit her Aunt Simper for the winter break. She does realise the strangeness of the small town as soon as she enters it, and it makes the whole thing seem even more of a drag.
Things seem to pick up though when she meets her Aunt’s welcoming next-door neighbour Cawley Creswell. He’s lovable and handsome, though she doesn’t realise that Cawley has a big part in the goings on in the woods at Eek Creek at night.
I'm hoping to make it a bit quirky, but I'm just scared that it's going to go off in a weird hillbilly-small town kind of area, but I think that's just because I've been watching way too much True Blood :P. Anyways, that's all for now!

Jamie: Procrastination and Ideas...
I guess this is what happens when you're a terrible procrastinator like me. Oh well, I'll get it done one way or another. However, I have had a lot of inspirations in the writing world and am upset that I cannot actually write down my ideas. :( It saddens me that I can't! I'm hoping I would finish the summer homework early, but the rate I'm going... well... It doesn't look too good to say the least.
I promise there was an actual reason to posting this nonsense! I wanted your thoughts on what you think of the idea, assassin of the night? I had a dream last night where I was one, and thought it might be an interesting idea to start a book on. So... thoughts?

Cori: Nat has inspired me
I just spent about an hour looking through old word documents, musing about how badly written my old stories are and wondering where I learned to write dialogue correctly (I think I was reading and was like, "OH! It's suddenly all so clear to me!" lmao).
I deleted no less than 62 documents, transferred 12 of them to other documents and combined them together, figured out that five documents were the exact same things under different names, and found 1 that was completely blank. I also found 1 that had nothing but swear words on it, but that might have been something my older brother did, haha.
Fascinating, isn't it?
Nat: Refreshing.
And if you had seen how messy everything in my office was before, you would be impressed with how clean it is now. It's quite refreshing, to tell the truth.
Anyway, that's all.
What happened to our SAAWAKM/FB revolution, ladies? Get posting!

Cori: Caged
Basically, it takes place in a Dystopian world called Utopia, and it could be considered futuristic I guess. The story is about a demon named Altrius, fifty four years after he unintentionally creates a nuclear war that kills millions and scars tons of people, including the kid now in his care as an apprentice, for life. The end of the war is in the prologue. In chapter one, half a century later, Altrius is pretty much a vagabond and traveling the world.
While traveling, he stops at a city called Karat, and the elder of the city has guards bring him in so he can talk to Altrius. Tresting the elder's family has been keeping the prophecy about Altrius safe for two centuries, but Tresting is dying and he doesn't have an heir. As soon as Tresting dies, the prophecy will be hidden and Altrius and his enemy will each have to gather a group of warriors and set out to find said prophecy before the other one. Zalthar, Al's enemy, will be able to use the prophecy to corrode the planet. Altrius's job is to find and destroy it, after listening to it of course so he can fulfill it properly.
That's basically what book one is about. Altrius and his group of demon warriors, calling themselves the Company, go to find and destroy the prophecy and save the world from another war, and total corruption.

Jamie: Plot and Beginnings....
Okay, well I have a question for my fellow writers. Do you guys have any tips on how to start a book? Like a good intro/beginning? I'm having... difficulties.
Thanks!
~~Jamie
Cori: Snape, Snape, Severus Snape DUMBLEDORE!
Anyway, the 500 word thing sounds great, I'm working on mine right now for the first time today; I spent hours teaching my little brother, Zack, how to properly kill people on Sims 3, and my older brother, Max, was teaching me how to properly kill people on Grand Theft Auto, and my baby brother, Preston, was trying to get me to teach him how to wipe properly.
Um, yeah...Getting off track here.
I DO have a Crapbook, have since I was twelve, so add me there on the book of faces if you guys have one! "Corinne Tufts" is the name, and my profile pic is of my kitten, Weezer. It's sort of a badly taken picture, on a red couch, but the kitty looks nice in my opinion haha.
OOH, big news by the way! As you all know, I'm doing a sixth rewrite of my novel...formerly--yes, formerly--titled Between the Lines. I have changed the title to Caged. =D! Thoughts on this?
Heather: Uh... Oops?
I couldn't help myself.
It was too good.
So, I made sure the computer stayed on, and started reading while I waited for Kas's return.
Well, as it turns out, I got really, really, really, really caught up in it and WHAM. Next thing I know Kas has already come online, and then left again because she's impatient.
I missed her by six minutes.
That, ladies, is pure, unadulterated talent. And brilliant timing..
Hopefully she returns while I'm still paying attention, and we can finsh the other two scenes we wanted to get done tonight.

EDIT- I so do not suck!

Ned: 500 Words Per Day.

Jamie: Banner? Just for fun.
Jamie: Hello!
~~Kamiella
Cori made a banner, too!
Anyway, everyone was making these awesome banners so I thought, "Why can't I as well?"
Went to Google, typed in "writing" and got this pretty cool image of a quill pen, ink bottle, and open journal page. Went to picnik and used Text to write a quote into the journal, as well as SAAWAKM onto the page next to it.
I think it looks pretty good, so here it is:
Cori: Some stuff about Jamie.
So I'm going to tell you a bit about her now.
First off, she has a busy schedule. She says she'll try to update as much as possible, but every once and a while she might miss a day or two or be a bit late.
She's really funny, and a great writer; she's almost constantly cheerful, she's completely lovable (of course I would think that, she's like my big sis), and she's just plain awesome. I've told her all about you guys, talked about Silver (she loves the title), and went over some of the stuff that she'll need to know, like putting your name before the post title so we know who's writing it lol.
Jamie and I did NaNo together last year, by the way. We wrote a novel together called To The Countdown. We didn't win it, since I was working on two school projects at the time and she was bombarded with stuff as well, but it was super fun and we had some epic characters.
Also, she's about as obsessed with role playing as I am; she'll probably rant about RPing. xD! Maybe, maybe not though. We'll see.
So that's basically it. Again, thanks so much!!! She'll be really excited. So how does she join, exactly? I forget...It's been a very long time since I joined, and I haven't joined a blog since haha.
Oh my god its NED!

Nat: !!!
Alright, so I haven't really told you a lot about the story I'm working on right now (and I'm still not gonna tell you much haha) but I just realized that this story and one of my old stories could be combined so perfectly, and I just spent like an hour fixing them up and combining them and OH MY GOSH!
It's like it was meant to be!
I have a very good feeling about this story. XD
Ned. Change sounds refreshing.

Nat: In Response to Kas' Post...
SAAWAKM has seriously been one of the most amazing things that's happened to me in the last few years. I count myself as so lucky that I have this amazing community to support me in my writing and anything else going on in my life. Think about it - through SAAWAKM, we now have friends from Australia and all over the United States and Canada. That's something pretty special that not everyone gets the opportunity to do. I love and admire every single one of you for the people you are, and I can't wait for the day of the first SAAWKM real life meet up. (Because I am determined that it will happen.)
I don't want anything to change what SAAWAKM means to us all, which means that we really need to put a little more effort into this, like Kas was saying.
I think that means that, rather than clicking Awesome on the bottom of the post which takes two seconds, we should actually take a few minutes to write a comment and add something meaningful to the discussion. I believe that every post should have at least 3 or 4 comments, or you could even make a post in response to someone else's post if you have a lot to say.
As for adding new members: I vote yes to Cori's friend, but I think from now on we should be careful with who we ask to join. I think part of the problem last time was that we went on this crazy spree of asking anyone we could find, without doing a ton of research into who they are/their writing. Just a suggestion, but I think maybe asking them a few questions before inviting them or having everyone read a writing sample before voting yes or no could solve the problem of all the drama we had last time. As well, I don't think we should add more than 2 or 3 members.
I hope all of this makes sense...
-Nat
Kas: I think maybe its time to bring this up.
Cori: The rewrite is going well.
Also, I wanted to ask you something, Kas. My friend Jamie, who adopted me (in a way) as her little sister, is also a writer. Could she join up on here, if that's okay with you? She's really awesome, I promise. ^^
Heather: And The Mysterious Hum.
It has been for around a year and a half. Seriously, you can look it up. It's real.
They think it might have something to do with something in the states, I think...
But you want to know what my theory is?
I'm sure you do.
I think it's a band of mini Godzillas that live in our sewer systems and attract their prey by humming.
Of course.

Ned: Brothers of Grim
Re reading some of the brothers of grim fairy tales. Found this one, isn't it lovely?
There was once a poor woman who had two children. The youngest had to go everyday into the forrest to fetch wood. Once when she had gone a long way to seek it, a little child, who was quite strong, came and helped her industriously to pick up the wood and carry it home, and then before a moment had passed, the child disappeared. The child told her mother this, but at first she would not believe it. At length she brought a rose home, and told her mother the beautiful child had given her this rose, and had told her that when it was in full bloom, he would return. The mother put the rose in water. One morning the child could not get out of bed. The mother went to the bed and found her dead, but looking very happy. One same morning, the rose was in full bloom.
lol. You thought I actually meant lovely.
<3
-Ned.
Nat: Advice?
1.) What is something that a 19-year-old girl could do that would cause her to lose all of her friends?
2.) What kind of adventures could a group of 19-year-olds have on a roadtrip across the US?
3.) How do you guys come up with really unique names for stories? Stuff like Katniss (from Hunger Games) or Keys (from Ned's excerpt, which was amazing, and I'm planning on writing a review later), those kinds of nicknames or whatever, know what I mean?
Thanks in advance!

I was at work today (I work at a kids play place), and a little boy came up to me and whispered, "I spilled my drink on the floor." I told him I would come clean it up and he motioned for me to kneel down, then whispered, "You aren't going to call the police, are you?"
No, kid. I'm not going to call the police because you spilled your drink. :)

Oh! You could go watch the video I posted today. That's something for you to do!
