Cori: Freaking ice cream.

Tomorrow is my last day of school =D! I'm going to be freeeee! Also, I've been writing again. I don't know if Caged will be done by June 30th, but I sure can try haha.

Also...nobody posted yesterday. I was sad. And no one has posted today until now, and that's only because I got bored of waiting for you guys to post...

I get the really bad feeling that some of the profiles on here are going to be gone soon. :(

Oh! Another thing. I was at a friend's house yesterday with a bunch of other people, and we went out to get ice cream. On the way there one of the girls in our group had us stop at this little corner store call Kwik Mart (reminds me of Simpsons too) so she could get candy. I went inside with her because I've always wanted to see what that place looks like. Well...I kind of wish we hadn't gone in at all.

Me: *looking at all the candy. Store owner is watching us suspiciously.* "You have money, right, Taryn?"
Taryn: "Duh. Why wouldn't I?" *leans over to whisper in my ear.* "If you want anything...just say so."
Me: Wait...what?

She got caught stealing some gum and a soda. I had no idea what was going on; but as we were leaving the store the owner was like, "Stop right there. Come over here."

Store Owner: "Did you steal anything?"
Taryn: "No."
Store Owner: "Did you steal anything?"
Taryn: "No."
Store Owner: "Do you want me to call the police?"

Things began deteriorating rapidly at that point. But thankfully, Amanda, who was also in the store, cleared things up by calling her mom and having her come down and pick us up. The police were not called, Taryn was lectured to the point of tears, the store owner let her keep the stuff, and we booked it out of there.

I am never going back in there again. And you know...all I wanted was some freaking ice cream.

Kamie: Random...

So yeah I wanted to post regularly again! Um... nothing really large has happened lately. Rachel and I have decided to work on two books at once, wish me luck there! Thank you Kas and Heather for the outline idea. We very well might use it because we really liked that idea. If either of you are capable of posting/commenting a detailed way of explaining it that's awesome, but the way Kas described it in the comments was very good, and we have a basic idea of how we can outline it now! Um... is there really anything else to talk about? Okay, well graduation is on June 8th for me and I have been chosen out of the top sixteen of my class to be a Junior Arch Bearer, which is awesome. I'm so excited for the summer and then senior year. It gets me just that much closer to graduating and going to college which makes me extremely excited! Does anyone know about the book East of Eden by John Steinback? That's my summer reading, so yeah! I hope it's not too bad! Well, I think that's all for now, so to leave on a happy note here's the song my boyfriend dedicated to me!

Cori: I found the perfect picture!

I've been obsessed with a certain anime for the past few months. A few days ago, I found this amazing artist that does all sorts of art for the characters of that certain anime. I am now in love. The main character of that certain anime looks and acts almost exactly like Altrius, which is an amazing coincidence that I'm taking full advantage of. So you can imagine my reaction when I find the artist and see all the fantastic pictures she's done for my lovely Altrius lookalike.

Here is my favorite. This is what Altrius looks like.
He's beautiful, isn't he? *Tears up.*
Now if only there wasn't an annoying red block right in the middle of the picture...

* The name of that certain anime shall not be mentioned. I'm an extremely selfish person - I admit it - and once I find something I like I will guard it from others. Once I like it, it's mine. =D

Kamie: Finally past the working on it stage...

... and am now doing it stage! Woot! So yeah, I'm posting for the first time in quite awhile now, and it makes me happy! So yeah I've been trying to post for awhile now, as I keep commenting but was quite literally thrown into a vat of homework, for end of the school year work! I get out of school for the summer on June 8th, and am quite happy for summer to be honest! It's been a long year with a lot that happened, but hey it's over! Now only one more year of high school and then I'm off for college! I can't wait! Right now Mule's Days is ending which is an annual celebration where I live... the mule capital of the world. So yeah, it's memorial day... tomorrow and I hope all the veterans are in our mind!

So in recent news, I have gotten my first boyfriend, named Cody, I got through both APs alive, our band got superior in the Disneyland competition and won all around, and yeah! I think that's a pretty good chunk of information so far. I'm hoping to tour UNT over the summer and am still planning on going to Kin-Yoobi Con in August. I hope I get to see my family down in So. Cal. this summer, and I am planning on visiting and capturing my friend Bailee and Brittany over the summer too.

As for writing my friend Rachel and I are working on a book which has not been named yet but we have come up with a pretty good outline so far. Speaking of outlines, hey Kas and Heather any advice, since your outline worked out so well! So yeah, I'm hoping to do something on my own again soon, I really am inspired but am not quite sure what to do as of yet; however, hopefully soon I will have an idea strike me from above! I am also hoping that soon, Cori and I will be able to work on TTC, I've missed it dearly. So yeah!

That's all I have to say now, and the fact that I'm disappointed that many people haven't been posting! I miss hearing from ya'll even though I'm still relatively new on the blog. When you say looking for newbies, how exactly do you recruit may I ask? Is it somebody you know like friend-wise or is it random people nobody knows? Just wondering! So yeah, hope I get more comments than I normally do, and I hope to see more posts than I normally do. For now, peace out!

Kas: I have an adorable kitten sleeping on me, so i have to type quietly

I haven't written anything, at all.

I'm using my new gym membership for the first time tomorrow. I decided working out will be a project of mine for the summer. Gotta lose some weight before I start college. So i'll keep you guys updated on that...

I've bought so many new pairs of shoes lately, its ridiculous. Hahaha.

I'm still trying to find a summer project. Other than the gym. I was thinking about taking up running, as well. But i kind of hate running, so I guess we'll see... Haha.

My sister is moving into her new house this week, and her bridal shower is on Sat. So i'll probably be busy with that all week...

I'll post again tomorrow night!

-K

Heather: Time to Start Scouting.

I think.

We're giving them time (until Thursday, if you haven't yet posted) but I think we should start looking for potential writers. Because we might as well get on with it.

My show ended up being decently fantastic and I GOT A CINNAMON BUN.

And also, ladies who have posted, please try to keep it up!

-H

Cori is also disappointed.

I also believed that there would be more posts, more comments, more "reaction" button things...I guess not.
Honestly, I don't think Caged will be finished before June 30th. So I pretty much won NaNo for no good reason; that's kind of a failure, isn't it?

Anyway, I just hope that not too many of you will have your pages deleted, because you guys are really awesome and I've had a lot of fun being on this blog with you.

Cori: Butter knives!

I cut myself on a butter knife today. Now, I know what you're thinking - nobody has ever cut themselves on a butter knife before. Well...I did. More like I stabbed myself, but either way there was a lot of blood haha. I might have gone into shock, too; my memory of those few minutes are kind of hazy. I can't remember whether it was my grandma or my mom who cleaned me up.
Here's how it happened:

Grandma: "Will you grab me a hill billy napkin?" (paper towel.)
Me: "Sure thing." *Goes over to grab a paper towel. A butter knife falls off the microwave. I reach for it as it falls; the bottom of it hits the counter, and my palm happens to high-five the top. Pain ensues.*

That happened at 9:30, about two hours ago. It's still bleeding. Ouch, right? xD

Heather: Disappointed.

Honestly, I sort of figured everyone would snap to attention and actually post. Either A) no one cares enough to check the blog despite being told to, or B) no one wants to remain as part of the blog.

Frankly, I'm not sure which is worse.

Anywho, if you're reading this and don't know what I'm talking about, read my last two posts please. Your SAAWAKM life depends on it.

Tomorrow is the last performance of The Secret Garden and I just got home from the second last one and I'm so tired I want to collapse.

No time for Silver today. :(

You ladies reading and posting (Kamie, you too, I know you're working on it) make my day. Please don't stop!

Cori: So many posts!

I feel like a bat, that sees that the sun has finally gone down after the sunniest day in all of history. (I know, it's a weird comparison.) SO MANY POSTS! Yay!
The Soltuon that you guys have been mentioning...Go for it. I think it's what we need, even if it does make me very sad. How did it come to this, guys? We used to post so often...Didn't we have 100 posts in a single month? And now we have less than 20. It's messed up. I vividly remember posting up to four times a day with the rest of you. In fact, I remember when we had boys on here.

What I'm trying to say is that I'm all for it. We need The Solution.

Thursday, May 24, 2012

Kas: Postinggg

So, I like Heather's new idea. maybe it will help get us all posting again. New members might help as well, since we wouldn't want to bring new members in just to disappoint them...

I haven't really worked on silver much either lately, but i do plan on getting a bunch of it done next week. My sister's bridal shower is a week from Saturday and so i've been pretty busy putting that together.

Anyways, thats pretty much all i have to tell you guys.

-K

Heather: Here You Have It, Folks.

The Solution is a go (unless Cori has reason to protest). If you don't know what I'm talking about, reference my last post, please.

Everyone that has posted more than once in the last two months (or longer?) has agreed (except Cori). That being myself, Nat, Kas (on Y!M), and Jamie (Cori too, I hope). The solution is sad, but I think it makes sense.

So, everyone has from yesterday to say... Thursday (not today, the one after today) to make a post or risk being the first victim of dun dun dun dun The Solution. You have all been told about the post on facebook as well, and as much as I dislike it, I think it needs doing. If you don't bother checking after the posts in our facebook groups, I don't really think it's anyone else's fault. (I hope that isn't too harsh or defensive sounding, you're all my friends, and I adore each of you.)

Anyway, The Solution is a-go.

Also, I think at least 1-2 posts a week each, until we all get back into the motions (during and after the implementation of The Solution) should be a requirement. And we should post word counts/updates about our writing (whether it is to say, 'I've done absolutely nothing' or it's 'I just wrote ten chapters woo!') It also shouldn't have to be the main content of every post, because we are all friends here, and we do like to talk to each other. But it should be mentioned, even in passing.

Speaking of which, I have barely worked on editing Silver in the last two weeks. Monday, I plan to kick things into high gear. (This weekend I have to help out with getting the camp ready, my grandparents are visiting, some homework, and four shows of The Secret Garden. Busy busy bee.)

Also, maybe Nicole should have two weeks? I don't think any of us have her on facebook, so there's no way to ask her to check the blog.

Everything sound good ladies?

And remember, when pages go, new writers we'll find. We need some livening up, whether that means the old return to us, or new ones appear. I'm having a bit of a (failing) pep talk moment where I want to yell 'HUZZAH' and pretend I'm King Arthur. I suppose it's best not to ask...

Sound good?

Nat: First Post in FOREVER...

Heather, your solution makes me sad, but I think that it's a solution worth trying.
Here is my post to say: Don't delete me! I still check this blog every day even though I don't post very often.

I don't have anything to say, because I haven't been writing much at all lately.

Anyway, hopefully I'll hear from you all soon.

<3 Nat

Heather: A Hypocritical Post About Posting.

Okay.

I love you all.

A lot.

But this is getting ridiculous. I am getting ridiculous.

The only one not ridiculous is Cori. Who rocks.

I think we need to do a serious clean out. By that I mean, if people don't make at least one post in the next week, their page is removed (though not their posting rights) until they feel the need to return, and we even ask other people to join us.

Honestly, I used to spend all night on here, checking it over and over for new posts and comments, and now I barely check because there are never any new things. And it's my fault as well. I totally admit to that.

But I think we need to fix the problem before we lose contact all together (we can post in the facebook group too, where everyone but Nicole should be, so people will be aware). But really, I'd rather make new friends with awesome writers, then have old friends I never get to have contact with. We need to clean up shop, and if that's how to make it work, maybe that's exactly what we need. None of our solutions have worked in the past, so maybe it's about time we tried this one.

Remember, I don't mean erase publishing rights, just pages to make room for new faces if the old ones don't want to bother anymore.

What do you think? I'm not looking for many replies, since I think only about four of us still check this. But if you do still look, let me know. It sucks that it's this way, but it's really the only way I can see us fixing it.

Cori: I just realized...

...that I have never Skyped any of you (except for Jamie). It's ridiculous, I know! :O
You guys should totally Skype me. I don't have a video camera or anything, but I can IM and stuff. So we would be able to chat like that.
I think my username thing is Khardan_Jakk. It might be something completely different, but I'm fairly sure that's the one.

Also! I have just hit 63060 words in Caged. I'm nearly finished with chapter twelve; then I'll only have eight chapters to go. Eight chapters in about 40 days: Difficult? Yes. Impossible? No.
So hopefully, I'll have the entire novel done by June 30th. I'm sort of starting of panic.

Saturday, May 19, 2012

Cori: 42 days left

42 days until Caged has to be finished. And I still have ten chapters to write. Basically, what I'm trying to say is that I'm screwed. Fortunately, I have some of chapter eleven and most of chapter twelve written. So I guess I can bring down my needed chapters to eight and a half.
Still, that's a lot.
So how has everyone been? I told myself, quite a few days back, that I wouldn't post until two other people did xD! So here I am, because Kas and Jamie decided to indulge me in some posts.

Well, I need to keep writing. Bye, guys. And congrats to Kas on her graduation!

Friday, May 18, 2012

Kas: Sorry.

I know I've been gone for a while, but i have just been super busy.

I graduated from High School on Tuesday, which was amazing... and extremely terrifying. I didn't cry, weirdly, but i got close a few times. It's the strangest thought in the world to know that I won't see the majority of the people I've spent the last four years with ever again...

I'm also busy planning for my older sister's bridal shower, which is on June 2nd.

I'm getting into this strange time in my life where i'm stuck in this place where all i can do is reminisce about the past and fear the future. I'm not truly doing anything with my life at the moment, high school is over and college starts in three months.

My best friend moved away last week, which has been hard. She moved to a town about an hour and a half away to live with her boyfriend. We've still spent a lot of time together since then, with Grad and all, but i have this sinking feeling that i won't see her very often anymore.

Silver hasn't gotten anywhere since the last post I made. Being so busy has left pretty much no time to work on it. And Heather is in a play and coaching soccer now, so she's never on either. :(

Right now I think i'm just trying to find something to do this summer, so i don't lose my mind. I never make good choices when i have too much spare time. I need some kind of project.

Kamie: Yeah, I know it's been awhile.

I just finished up my AP for US History, I have one more now on Wednesday so bear with me. I'm going to be gone this weekend with the band and choir for our concert performance to Disneyland. Yesterday was probably the best day of my life! It was prom for me and was so much fun, I'm not even kidding. I spent most of the night with one of my best friends and the guy I like! Um... then after prom at midnight the three of us went to Denny's for a midnight snack! Always fun! I can honestly say one thing I am very, very, VERY, oblivious! At least I know for next time! Oh well! Let's see what else? Well, Cori and I should be starting up with TTC as soon as I'm done with all this Junior stuff... (it's terrible)! I have recently joined back into ballet, and it is amazing! I love being back into it now! I never knew how much I missed it, it feels great! Hum... is there anything else really? Oh I have a couple new book ideas, and my friend Rachel and I are planning a book right now about a half-human, half-phoenix and another character which we don't remember much about! xD we should be looking up more info about her soon! And hey! Summer is almost here! You don't know how great that sounds to me! I will be going to an anime convention in August called Kin-Yoobi Con, and I get to meet Vic Mignogna! The one that I really wanted to go to is in Texas in July, and I just can't make it! The top universities I'm looking to maybe attend (if I get in) is:
UNT (University of North Texas)
UC Davis
UNH (University of New Hampshire)
Ohio University

I need a few more to add on, and just for kicks (for I'd never be able to pay for it) I'm looking into applying to NYU (New York University).

So yeah! My dad is hoping to buy both of us a year long train pass and I might be touring some of those colleges so yay! Um... I think that's all... I don't know what else to say, so yeah. How have all of you been? Sorry it's been so long, I'll try not to make it so long next time! Well, I'm off to bed! Night!

Cori: Third in a row

Seriously? Three posts in a row for me? Come on, guys...I know some of you are busy, since exams are coming up and you might have a lot of homework, but it's the weekend now...You should be relaxing and/or posting on SAAWAKM.

Ugh...and now I can't remember what I was originally going to post about. So, I'm just going to say one thing: my mom's new car has heated seats. Absolute bliss.

Cori: Crazy Scottish Guys

Weird title, huh? It has something to do with a conversation I had at the end of school. I was walking to my locker with my friend Jesse.

Jesse: "I'll need to run to the ROTC room and grab my coat and shirt."
Me: "Did you say that you need to grab your kilt and shirt...?"
Jesse: "Coat, Corinne. I need to grab my coat."
Me: "Oh. Sorry. But yeah, I mean, nobody wears kilts anymore. Well, except for Scottish guys."
[A girl walks by wearing a kilt]
Me: "...And her."

I mean, what are the odds that the very second I'm saying that, some chick walks by in this really flashy kilt? The world must really hate me.

Also, I hit 61,000 today xD! Ceeeeeeelebrate good times, C'MON!

Tuesday, May 8, 2012

Cori: 60,000 words!

Woo! I spent my study hall writing, and managed to write about 500 words in there. Adding that to the 1,000 words I had written the day before, I managed to crank out 1,500 words...and that brought me up to 60,000 words in Caged.
I'm really happy that, during the first three days of NaNoWriMo, I switched out my novel for Caged. Because before that I hadn't written more than three chapters, and I was completely stuck. And NOW look at it haha.
Well...I'm going on a walk now so I need to run and get my shoes on (and grab a popsicle)...Bye!

Friday, May 4, 2012

Kas: Blah.

So, Heather told me to come make a post, so here i am. Haha.
What's going on in my life lately?
1) My last day of high school is Thursday, which is equally as terrifying as it is exciting.
2) Graduation is on the 15th. Super excited for that, mostly just the after party though... Haha.
3) Silver is written, which you know, and i'm about halfway through my notes for the first round of editing. I know none of you know what we're talking about by that, but its just a part of our editing plan we came up with...
4) I have an appointment at my future college in a few weeks to enroll in classes and all that fun stuff. I also get my roommate assignment, which i'm kind of nervous about, because it's going to be someone i've never met before. Can you say axe-murderer? :)
I decided to take Italian, Government, General Anthropology, and Expo: Jane Austen (Which is the same as Comp. II or English II except it's focused on Jane Austen books. :D)
5) I'm reading the Fault in Our Stars by John Green, and so far it's amazing.

Okay, I really don't have anything else to tell you. So, as a parting gift, i'll leave you with the most amazing thing on the internet as of now...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mrDPPaDbrsE

Best. Thing. Ever.

-K

Heather: 14 Days.

14 days until the first performance of The Secret Garden. To which, my Writer's Craft class is going, ass (typo= freudian slip? Not sure what my subconscious means by it though? :P ) we'll be on the one act play unit. Shoot me?
My friend volunteered them to come.
Which means I have to sing and dance (at which I am horrendous, but have put in immense efforts) and act in front of my peers. In the first performance. Once I'm onstage/almost on stage the jitters will dissipate, but for now, I'm nervous as hell.
Yet another update, I'm a terrible procrastinator and Kas and my date for having Silver read and notes made on it for the second draft is fast approaching and I'm no where near done, but I will be! I think.
Also, I'm assistant coaching soccer, and it's incredibly exciting! The girls are ten to twelve (a couple newly turned thirteen year olds in there too) and they're all adorable. Some of you may recall the post about soccer being the bane of my existence, causing injuries left and right and being the only sport I could never play... But I was actually pretty good at practice, which was, you know, exciting.
What I really want to do is coach (full on coach, not assistant) a kid's basketball team, seeing as I've played it competitively for ten years and it's the best sport in the world and coaching is awesome.
AND I got a job interview for a camp counselor job that I've wanted for years (my sister had it, I was much too young at that point) and I am so excited.
AND (I know, I know) I'm volunteering to give blood for the first time since I'm finally old enough. Woo!
Haha, and that is the life of Heather as I know it.
Also, I accidentally stumbled across my monthly/weekly horoscope and it was so broad but so true and I was like, 'whoa.' And... Well, it was early morning at that point so, you know. Later!
-H
EDIT-I've also managed to watch a season and a half of Pretty Little Liars whilst doing this and am afraid I will not be able to stop in order to get things done on time. Ladies, I have a problem.

Cori: This is getting ridiculous.

This is the fourth post in a row that's been posted by me.
Where the heck is everyone? I mean, seriously guys. You were posting so much last month, and now you've suddenly poofed.
At times, I feel like I'm the only one actually on this blog. And that's upsetting, because I have never really wanted a blog. lol. I'm on here for shits and giggles, and because you guys are completely awesome. Also, writing is fun.
So why aren't you posting? Dx!
Oh...by the way...I'm at nearly 60,000 words in Caged. In only a few days, I've written more than 5,000 words. WOO! xD

Wednesday, May 2, 2012

Cori: 55555

No, that's not an obscure reference to 666, the Devil's number xD! That's my wordcount. It's at exactly 55,555 right now, and I thought I would just share this awesomeness with you guys.
I've written around 1,000 words today. Happy happy joy joy, eh? Haha.
Oh, by the way! I finally got around the part I was stuck at in Caged, and right now I'm at a part that I'm really interested in writing in. I'm actually having fun. Boo yah!
Okay, well it's my bedtime right now (I hate when 10:30 comes around), so I'm gonna go to sleep now.
Good night, SAAWAKM! <3

Tuesday, May 1, 2012

Cori: Write or Die is my salvation!

It truly is. With Write or Die, I have written 2,000 words today. So right now I'm at nearly 55,000 words, which is totally awesome.
When I reach 55,000, I'll only have 20,000 more words to go until 75,000. Caged might be shorter than that, but that's my estimate. Thank God I have an ending worked out in my head, so I know where I'm going with this.
So if I can finish Caged by June 30th, I'll be able to do the NaNoWriMo thing and get my book in actual book form since I won this year. And then people will actually be able to read it. x)
Kas, Heather, you should do the YWP of NaNo next year and win it. Because then you'll get your book in book form. And they never said that it has to be your NaNo book...so you guys could get Silver sent to you. xD
