Nat's New NaNoWriMo Novel

Introducing...The Secret-Sharer.

Every story has two sides.
I bet you knew that already.
But I bet you didn't know that every
person also has two sides - and I mean that in the most literal way possible. As in, one half lives in our world, and the other half lives on The Other Side.

Our story revolves around a mirror.
On one side of the mirror lives Delilah Carter, a young girl with a troubled home life and dreams of a better future.
On the other side lives Wesley Oliver, a boy with troubles of his own.
Delilah and Wesley soon discover a secret - that they are able to communicate through the mirror. Delilah and Wesley quickly become best friends, travelling back and forth between each other's worlds and spending hours together. Wesley helps Delilah to deal with her troubled home life, and confides his own problems with Delilah.
There is, however, one catch - Delilah and Wesley can only ever communicate by writing letters and can never actually speak to one another.
Years pass and somehow Wesley is forgotten as Delilah grows up.
Delilah is now 17 years old. She finds herself trapped in an abusive relationship, the type that she promised herself she would never get into. However, she doesn't know how to escape, and in a last desperate attempt, she goes to Wesley once more for help.
But Wesley is gone.
Without her former best friend, Delilah doesn't know what to do. She decides to makes her way into the dangerous land on the other side of the mirror, the place where she has never travelled without Wesley as her guide. What she discovers there will forever change her world and her life.

Kas: Hello again...

So, who's readyt o see my first try at poetry? Haha. I wrote this for you guys, and im not really sure if i like it, but it took me forever, so i figured i'd post it anyways.
We will be remembered.
Remember these moments,
And the magic we’ve made.
All our time spent together,
Creating every page.

The ink on these pages,
It’s more than just words.
Behind every phrase,
Something hidden, obscured.

As our stories dance across the page,
There can be no more fear.
We no longer stand alone.
We are together, here.

One day, we’re gonna rise up,
And show the world what we’ve made.
Our time is coming,
But I’m not afraid.

Just remember this feeling,
Before it slips from our grasp.
We have the strength of the ages,
And we’re on the right path.

It takes a single spark,
To set the world ablaze.
Now it’s our time,
A time of change.

So when our day comes,
I hope that you shine.
And together,
We will be remembered…
-K

I wrote this for you guys, and im not really sure if i like it, but it took me forever, so i figured i'd

Kas: I think...

Im going to take up Poetry.

That is all.

Sage- Wrote a song

Wrote a holiday-ish song.
Expect an upload SOON.

Nat: I'VE GOT IT!

My NaNoWriMo idea is finally starting to take shape and form into an actual storyline! Yay! (It's about time, Nov. 1 is in three days!)

I'll make a post later explaining my new idea. =)

Pet peeves!!!!

UGH!!! I hate people. That's literally my pet peeve, is jerks and brats. They just make me want to kill them--honestly. I get all shaky and hyper feeling, and I get murder thoughts, lol. I've even made a list of who to slap; it's the innocent version of a hit-list.
You guys are okay, though. It's just that basically everyone annoys me somehow, lol! Like, that's why I only come on here sometimes. If I get irritated, I'll flip out and be upset and angry xD!
So what are your pet peeves?
((Oh, by the way, lol. I hope you don't mind that I added my blog link? xD! My comp won't let me get to it anymore if I type it in and all, and it works this way. I tried.))

Hunter.

Once your friends leave you, your parents die, and the people you believe in betray you, Who do you have left to trust? The lines begin to blur between what you've been told is wrong, and what you know is good. What happens when you get to know your enemies?

WARNING ALL SAAWAKM MEMBERS!

This is an urgent message.

Kas has a secret plot to murder all SAAWAKM members. She's targeting Heather first. I'm just here to warn you and protect you - if it's not too late.

Run and hide. Quickly, or she will find you.

Sincerely,

Nat

Kas: I've had the time of my life fighting dragons with you.

Hunter.

“Stay away from me. Im dangerous.”
“You’re beautiful.”
“Only on the outside.”

Thats all im giving you for now. :O haha. I've been trying to write a synopsis, but i cant get one i like.. so, yeah. If i get one thats good, ill post it. :P

Heather: Please, Ignore Me.

I want you to disregard both of my previous posts.
My rant, and my synopsis.
It has been completely, completely changed.
I just made a brand new blurb.
Liar, is much better now.
And, it is called Fenix.
:)
Later, ladies.

Heather: Not-So-Typical.

A lot of fantasy/supernatural/romance books tend to have the same lovey feelings to them, the girl by the end, is so in love she'd almost always sacrifice herself for the one she loves, the guy does whatever he can to 'protect her.' And eventually, they get their very own happy ending.
It's starting to get on my nerves.
The supernatural aspect of my idea has been somewhat overplayed (no wolves or vampires,) and they all seem to follow the same general guide lines for how to write about the... things.
I'm going to change it.
My book is going to be utterly different. Maybe I'm just feeling melancholy, but happy endings are officially over rated, and this romance is going to be creepy.
Creepy, but not horrific.
:)
NED!
I know it was you who added Emilie, Ashton, Joe, and the Den to the pages.
(Just watch this end up being the most lovey-dovey, gushy romance ever. Hahaha, I hope not... :S )

Nat: Third post of the day!!!

Add me as a Writing Buddy on NaNoWriMo!!

http://www.nanowrimo.org/eng/user/695381

Nat: Synopsis for Ned

Signs all over the city read 'No Specials Allowed."

I looked away.

They call us Specials. At least they can agree on that, because God knows we are Special.

The city is changing, people say. The people are changing. They aren't natural.

What can they mean, we aren't natural? We were born like this. That's as natural as it gets, isn't it? Humans are just ignorant, that's the only reason for this. Always looking for another way to make themselves feel big and strong.

The city is locking us up.

They're mutants, the doctors say. It's a birth defect, like being born with a sixth toe. Except that a sixth toe doesn't make you extremely violent.

Mutants? Birth defects? What did we do to deserve this? The only thing we've ever done to them is exist.

This has got to change. Now.

Ned. Unwanted

Haha.

So, I guess this could be a good thing, but it sounds really lame.

You all have new ideas for NaNoWriMo, and all I have is something I've been working on for 2 Years.

I have to get caught up on what I had though, and it's going through some tight editing.

Some stuff, isn't being given a second chance.

Like Secrets.

Mind readers suck. They know everything, and are impossible to write.

So bebye Secrets. Have fun in the reject pile.

lol.

so here it is.

Signs all over the city read 'No specials aloud'

"The city is changing. The people are changing. These new beings. They can't be good. It's not natural."- Karmen Bass

“The city is locking them up. It's not supossed to be like this. They were born like this, that's as natural as it gets, isn't it? Humans are ignorant. Not all, I know, but most.
This is just another way they can make themselves feel big a strong.”- Diana Richie

“They are mutants, sick, mentally and physically. It's a birth defect, like being born with a sixth tow, only, worse. A sixth tow doesn't make you extremely violent. We are working on a cure, but are far from a solution.”- Dr. Charles Baud

“Specials must be dealt with. Quickly. If it was up to me they'd all be put down. They are a danger to our families, and to our country.” - George Banks

So, as you can see, I suck at Synopsis (Plural.)

If anyone wanted to write one for me I'd be eternally gratefull. :)

Oh and here's my profile. Add me as a writing Buddy.

http://www.nanowrimo.org/eng/user/650936

K! I love you! BeBye!

Heather: NaNoWriMo.

This is what I'm doing for NaNoWriMo.
Liar.
Something is wrong with the world. Blake Meyers has never been the type of girl to be kissed by random, beautiful strangers. Blake Meyers isn't the girl who gets stalked. And Blake Meyers is definitely not the type of girl to see things that aren't there, and get herself caught up in the middle of a war. It's just not in her.
Blake Meyers has no idea what she's in for.

The idea's kind of vague, but I love it. :)
Anyway, as opposed to doing Ned's challenge I'll be plotting.
All night.
WHOOP!
;)
What d'ya think?
EDIT: I got rid of the first part of the synopsis, because it didn't really fit, and that part is kind of... interchangable, at the moment.

Nat: Sorry for the double post, but...

We have a very large issue.

I said that this is my first ever time doing NaNoWrimo, and I believed this to be true. But that means that either somebody used my email address to register, or I registered once before and forgot about it. And would you like to hear the username that somebody/me chose?

edward_cullen_4

Girls, we have a problem. I most definitely can not use this username...

Nat: Back to normal?

Good to see that things are getting back to normal here at SAAWAKM. :)

I'm being a bumblebee for Halloween this year. I love my costume, it's so cute! I'll show you some pictures after Halloween.

I plan on writing 3000 words today, as suggested for the NOW Challenge.

And regarding NaNoWriMo: I wasn't planning on doing it, because November is an incredibly busy month for me. But you know what, screw it. I'm going to do NaNoWriMo, for my first time ever! =)

Luv ya,

Nat

P.S. I'm applying for a job at a whole bunch of places. Wish me luck!

Sarah: GGGRRR!

Just wanted to let you know that my computer crashed. Hard. So I won't be posting. i had to use my mom's rudiculous dies every three seconds laptop for this post. Sorry.

Kas: One more thing.

I also think that everyone entering NaNoWriMo this year should make a post before it starts, telling us which story your doing... just so that everybody is up to date. :P

I'll make mine here in a few hours, its not quite ready yet..

-K

Kas: LADIES!

I think we've all had a good long SAAWAKM break... but its time to get back to it. Haha. 3 posts a week is just not cool, especially when we have so many members!

I know i've been MIA for a while too, but i've been stressed and not really writing, so i didnt have anythign to tell you guys. But no more excuses! Time to get SAAWAKM up and running again, and i say we use NaNoWriMo to do just that.

How many of you are entering this year? I know Heather, and Ned, and I think Maiah. I definately am.

NaNoWriMo was the inspriation for SAAWAKM! Haha. So we must celebrate.

Im going to make a new page titled NaNoWriMo, where those who are entering can keep everybody updated on their word counts. Oh, and i think a good idea would be for everyone to make a small post daily about their word count/ how hard it is/ how much you want to rip your hair out/ how appealing a swan dive fromt he nearest skyscraper seems... You get the picture.

Anyways, breaks over ladies. Lets get busy. :P

Oh.. and I started a new story... haha. (I'll make a post later.)

-K

Ned. Time to get HYPED.

*Clears Throat*

NANOWRIMO IS IN SEVEN DAYS!
I'M SO STOAKED!

EXCITEMENT!

So.

This is a message to all you SAAWAKM gals, Today is the day we get back.

NOW Challenge of the week, What are you guys being for halowe'en? do you celebrate?
I'm being Horo from Spice and wolf. For those of you sitting at home going "Who?"

Heres a picture.

Oh, and write 3000 words today. Don't think. JUST DO.

Kay, I love ya, bebye!

Friday, October 22, 2010

Maiah: UM.

Ha...uhhh...yeah.
I guess this is my first post in like, forever.
Literally.

I don't know anymore.
I haven't been working on my novel at all.
I feel my need to write coming on...
So that's good I guess.

I'm just really tired.
I've been extremely busy.
Blaaaaah.

I just don't have enough energy to bother pushing myself to do stuff anymore.
I feel like a blob.

Soo...yeah. I just wanted to let ya know I didn't die.

Bye.

Nicole: I miss...

I miss the way SAAWAKM used to be.
I miss this being an escape.
I miss having the energy to write.
I miss truly laughing.
I miss my brother.
I miss my old, real friends.
I miss being a kid.
I miss you guys.

Yeah.

Heather: New Page.

A while ago, there was a challenge to re-do our bio's, or ' about me's ' or whatever it is they're called. Anyway, I just did mine, and changed the picture to something much, much more recent. (Yes, AFTER I got most of my previously long my hair cut off and dyed black. Oops... Anyway, it's actually my natural colour now - and in that photo too! :O )
Feel free to check it out. :)
Haha.

Wednesday, October 20, 2010

Heather: I'm Torn.

Nalin, or the new one?
Which do I write for NaNoWriMo?
:O
I'm so torn!
Blech.
EDIT- Now I'm even more torn... I don't want to do either of them. I want something fresh... and I have no idea what? :'(

Tuesday, October 19, 2010

Sarah: It's like Harry Potter, and Percy Jackson, only it's not British and it's not about the Greek gods.

^^^ That's the best summary I can think of for my new novel. :)

Nicole: Did somebody delete my drafts?

I had a draft post (two actually) that I hadn't posted yet, but they had some names I needed in them. I can't find them now, did somebody delete them?

Monday, October 18, 2010

Dear SAAWAKM

Hi.

I just posted the beginning of the NEW Unwanted.

Please read it.

I think its good but, I just... I... I...

I need you to read it and give me a honest. Key word HONEST Opinion.

P.S I haven't written Nick's part yet... sorry. :)

-Ned.

Sarah: names?

I think the inspiration fairy has finally sprinkled her silly pixie dust on me. :)

The only problem is, I can't think of a good name. Can you guys help me out? Please? Here's a pitch I came up with real quick. It pretty much sucks, but whatever...

Welcome to St. Louis, Missouri. Yes, it’s in one of those “flyover” states. However, over three hundred thousand people live here.

But not all of them are human…and not all of them are what you’d call friendly.

Vampires. Werewolves. Dhampirs. Witches. Warlocks. And in the middle, there is one mortal girl who has to keep the balance between them. In her seventeen years, (NAME) never thought she would fight monsters. And now she has to decide if she will take on her role as a heroine. And when she does, she’ll need all the help she can get. But if she’s the world’s only hope then she’s going to try her hardest to save it.

So tell me your favorite names for a girl!

Nicole: New idea, and some help?

This new idea of mine is something I'm writing for fun. I remember reading something Nat said in another post about enjoying the process of coming up with a plot and the characters, etc, more than actually writing it, and I think I'm the same. So, this new idea of mine is a different approach. This is my idea:

Bronte Hirst and Cayden Riley had been in love since sixth grade. They knew they wanted to spend their lives together, and as soon as both of them turned eighteen they eloped. Their parents disapproved, but all the newlyweds cared about was each-other. That was until Cayden was ripped from Bronte's world and took his own life.

Bronte breaks down. She can't understand why he could possibly want to kill himself, and questions whether she was good enough for him. That's when her friend, Lilly, suggests that she writes him letters that could potentially help her come to closure.

She doesn't see how it could possibly help, and reluctantly writes the first letter to Cayden. Bronte soon ends up writing to him daily, dealing with the fact that she will never get a letter in return. Bronte confides in him as she goes through the grieving process, as she meets somebody new and uncovering the truth about what led him to suicide.

--

It'll be completely written in letters, (: Anyway, that's a pretty shitty synopsis but I'm so dead atm. What I need help with is: do you guys have some funny inside jokes with friends or little quirks you have that I could incorporate into Bronte and Cayden's history? Anything would be great!

Nicole: Update

Just a little update to let you know I'm alive. Like most of you I haven't been writing very much. Okay, that's a lie. I haven't been writing at all, but I have been thinking about it (if that even counts :P). I have been thinking about "Ripped" though, my old magic story and I'm either writing that or Submerged (the new Submerged, not the old one) for Nanowrimo.

I've got a job! :D I'm starting on Saturday night. It's at my Uncle's pizza shop (a whole bunch of my Uncle's own pizza shops, it's an Italian thing) as a waitress, oh yeee. Finally some moneyyyy!

Another quick thing, I'm becoming obsessed with Tumblr. You should check out mine cause I'm super proud of it, it's mainly just photography from We Heart It though http://swingthependulum.tumblr.com/ (:

Anyway, I have a new idea that I'm going to go write soon, but I'll post a little bit about it now because I need your help.

Nat: Challenge 11/4

Hi! (If you aren't interested in reading this boring crap, just skip to the red text at the bottom. It's the important part.)

My goodness, I feel like I haven't talked to you FOREVER! :(

I know that I am personally having trouble with my writing, and it sounds like a few other people are too. So I am going to propose:

A WRITING CHALLENGE!

*applause*

Mmhmm, it'll be lots of fun, I promise. :)

I just went through all of our old posts (God, it took a long time...), and discovered that this is going to be Challenge #11 technically. Although, we started back at #1 sometime in June, so this could also be Challenge #4, depending how you look at it...

Challenge Number 11/4: Find at least 3 pictures/quotes/stories/whatever else, that you find inspiring and share them with SAAWAKM. Maybe this will help us to all find the inspiration that we've been missing. (Deadline if you're going to do the Challenge is next Sunday) :D

Cori: Hey

I feel down...Just not in the mood for writing all of a sudden. And from earlier posts, it seems a lot of people are feeling the same right now. Why is this? It's like our writing minds have died all of a sudden or something..

Boats & Birds.

If you'll be my star,
I'll be your sky.
You can hide underneath me and come out at night.
When I turn jet black,
and you show off your light,
I live to let you shine...
I live to let you shine...

And you can sky rocket away from me,
And never come back if you find another galaxy,
Far from here,
With more room to fly,
Just leave me your stardust to remember you by...

If you'll be my boat,
I'll be your sea,
The depth of pure blue just to probe curiosity.
Ebbing and flowing and pushed by a breeze.
I live to make you free...
I live to make you free...

But you can set sail to the west if you want to,
And past the horizon till I can't even see you.
Far from here where the beaches are wide.
Just leave me your wake to remember you by...

If you'll be my star,
I'll be your sky.
You can hide underneath me and come out at night.
When I turn jet black,
and you show off your light,
I live to let you shine...
I live to let you shine...

And you can sky rocket away from me,
And never come back if you find another galaxy,
Far from here,
With more room to fly,
Just leave me your stardust to remember you by...

Stardust to remember you by...

Im not sure why, but I love this song. Its so amazing. Haha. Go listen to it! Its called Boats & Birds by Gregory and the Hawk. :D

-K

Heather: Wow...

I just came across my very first attempt a novel (even before The Book of the Dead) - from four years ago.
It's so bad, it's comedic.
I remember, I used to be so proud of it.
HAHAHA!
... Ridiculously so.
Anyway, it was about a girl and these dudes randomly break into her house, go to her room, grab her, and voila, she's in some alternate world where the king claims he's her brother...
Yeah, I've always been a strange one. :|
Also, it looks like I'll be starting with Sophia. :D

Wednesday, October 13, 2010

Nat: I think I figured it out. And technology hates me.

Yes, I figured out the secret to why I always start so many new ideas. It's because I just love creating new plots and characters so much more than I actually love writing the story.

And I was working on my new Harry Potter/YouTube music video yesterday, and found out that I can't use any footage from my video camera because my editing software doesn't support it. Which pisses me off because I already pieced together all of the soundtrack and text and GRRR!!!

Which leads me to a question for any of you that edit videos: What editing software do you use (that you find is actually good)? And was it expensive?

Thanks!

P.S. I think I've fallen in love with the vlogbrothers on YouTube. :)

And Heather: I absolutely LOVE your new story idea!

In other news: I am completely jealous of all of you and your amazingness and talent and writing ability. <3

Heather: The Blurbs.

                     Sophia's Story

Sophia has fallen from grace. With her late brother's acts of treason, her grieving family is forced to leave their palace residence and go back to the large city home they can no longer afford.
For the first time in her life, Sophia's eyes are opened to the world around her. The streets are swarming with half starved, penniless commoners, that spare her every courtesy they can afford in memory of her brothers deeds.
Rumours of a resistance spreads through the streets like wildfire, and Sophia quickly finds herself in the midst of the the rebels.
Almost instantly, she finds herself tangled in a ploy to kill the king. She must fight for a way back to into court, an invitation to the grandest ball of the century, fight for her new family; and seduce the handsome Prince Tobias. But what's a girl to do, when she has a jealous princess and mindless assassins on her tail?
For the first time in her life, it's time to fight.

            Alexandra's Tale

Alexandra is a fighter. A palace servant and a woman, she has no place with a bow, and certainly not a sword. She keeps her practice a secret, to all but her closest friend Calder, a lord with a fierce nature, and kind heart. But when Calder is killed by the palace guards in an attempt to kill the king, Alexandra is shocked; devastated.
After eavesdropping on a hidden conversation between nobles, she realizes exactly what it is she needs to do. Dressed as a man, and following a harsh, angry young lord bent on revenge, Alexandra finds herself fighting for survival amongst the rebels; and quickly rising in stature with her skill of the sword. But how does she keep herself a secret under the scrutiny of hundreds? More importantly, how does one plot the death of a king hundreds of leagues away?
For the first time in her life Alexandra has the power to make a difference, and of one thing, she is certain.
It's time to fight.

Both sides of a kingdom in pieces. :)

Which should I start with?

Heather: This Is Totally Over My Head.

Well, folks, I have some serious plot to do.
And then some serious writing.
I absolutely love my idea- but as two seperate novels.
Yes, two.
Here's where things get complicated.
These two books aren't sequencential, they'd be companion novels. (Example Graceling and Fire.. LOVE)
My issue is that both stories, are centered around each other. Both of them mention the other main character, but I can't ever have them meet. Because if they met in the first one, then I have to include it in the second, and make it dull by repeating things.
My plot skills are going into overdrive on this one.
Okay.
I'm going to make a blurb for each of the books now.
Maybe y'all can help me pick the first one to start. Hahahaha. ;)
(Kas, that y'all was just for you. ;) )

Sarah: Help, please?

Okay guys. I haven't written anything in a long time. I need your help because I'm about to go crazy.

I feel like I'm out of ideas or nothing is hitting me in the face like it normally does. What do you guys do to help you get ideas? Any tips or websites?

I really, really, really need some help...

Kas: Malkini

Alright, so i know i've said this before, but i think its time to take a break form Malkini. I hate it. Its stupid and irritating. Meh.

So, Malkini is being shoved into a tightly zipped folder on my desktop, where it will stay until its learned how to be more managable...

In othe rnews, im really excited about this new story. I still havent found a name for it, since i keep messing with the story. But, there is some exciting news. I've managed to combine my zombie story and this new one.

I'll write a blurb soon, and you guys can help me with the name, but fro now i think im going to just do more plotting and such.

:P

Heather: Something That Makes A Little More Sense.

My last post was kind of, in your face, no?
And unspecific.
I explained myself badly.
Anyway, I changed the idea so much it's a completely new idea, but inspired by about 5 of my other stories. :)
And I'm really excited.
It's the type of thing I've wanted to write since I read Eragon (no dragons intended) when I was, like, ten.
But I never had the perfect idea. I had thought it was Prowlers, but it was definitely not.
Now, however, I may just be amazing.
Really, really, really amazing.
It alternates POV by chapter, something I personally often dislike, but I think it's the only way now, and there are only two MC's.
And the two MC's are the most different people ever, they also happen to be identical twins.
It's medieval, and the is a lot of shizz going on. I swear.
Ladies Sophia and Lena are about to take their world by storm. One with her sword; the other her heart.
Simple stuff, really.
Your thoughts on this half-assed description?
;)

Heather: HEATHER IS A BLOODY GENIUS!

Mwuh hahahahahahahahaha!

It's Wolves.
And Simba.
And Hunter.
And Nalin.
(Calder (yum) will show at somepoint, at least - but it's less of the Nalin Plot.)

IN ONE FREAKING BOOK. OH MAH FREAK!HFJHBEAOHBFDJDHVJHSDJFVHKJDHASFTEYTESCJAVBBVF.

You don't know Hunter(for lack of a better name,) but soon you will.

PLOT! FBJFHBDFVJDJVBDFHJSDKJKLCKJJSDH.

YES!

Sarah: C'mon guys (and Ash!)

Hey there everyone! What have you been up to?

Well, I've been thinking seriously about my writing. Let me explain.

I haven't been writing that much and I can't figure out why. I'm really not sure what is going on with me or why I'm being all...I don't even know. Well, I've started a new project (by the way Maiah, we need to talk I guess) and I'm kind of excited about it. I know, I know I say that about everything but I really like this one.

Ash, I was reading on your blog that last month you had a writing goal of 20,000 words for your novel. I thought that was an excellent idea and was wondering if you wouldn't mind me using it also. Let me know below.

Also, I love the whole writing buddy thing but I also miss hearing about your guy's stories. I always really loved your ideas and wanted to know more. I vote we still use writing buddies for support and such but we should also let everyone know what is going on. :)

Heather: ;)

I've just been inspired.

Nat: Hi!

I haven't made a post in 14 days...wow.

But I thought I would let you guys know that my new book (The Chancellor's Daughter) is currently 20,572 words!! Yay!!

And also: despite the crazy abundance of SAAWAKM members that are becoming vegetarian - I am not. It's not that I don't care about animals or anything like that. It's just a personal choice. But I support you guys for having the courage to stand up for what you believe in. =)

I also want to comment on the fact that we have been posting WAAAAAY less than normal, and I don't like it. :(

I am pigging out on junk food. (Skittles, M&Ms, and Salt and Vinegar chips.) It's delicious. :)

[Edit:] I'm also working on a new YouTube video. I'll let you know when it's up. It's a song that I wrote with my cousin, and I promise it's going to be awesome! (It's about Harry Potter.)
=)

Nicole: Kal Adey

Okay, I've found three different photos that I think would suit Kal (all hot, yes, I'm that shallow (; ), but I can't decide which one I like the most.

I'm thinking number two, and not just because he's shirtless :P. What do you guys think?

Heather: ?

Why does home, now say 'The Nest' ?

Kas: Vegetarian.

Warning: This post is going to contain disturbing facts abnd images about the slaughter of animals. If you don't think you can handle it, don't read on.

Well, Heather, you've inspired me.

I've spent the last hour reasearching animal slaughter, and the production of meat. Its horrific. I mean, I downloaded a video from youtube that actually made me cry... And i haven't cried in 6 years. My stomach hurts right now, from watching that video.

Heres the link.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KgYa1nbqTB4

But, im warning you guys. If you faint or throw up easily, its a pretty bad video.

And here are a few facts that i found about slaughter houses...

1. Animals are killed by first being stunned with electricity or a captive bolt gun (ie. a bolt is fired into their heads) before having their throats slit & being dipped into boiling water - all this happens while the animals is still conscious and moving. This all occurs whilst they are on a production line being hung upside down from a moving conveyor belt - this is factory farming.

2. Calf leather comes from babies killed at just 2 weeks old. These Veal calves are confined in stalls in the dark, unable to move & are fed on pigs blood ,chocolate & dried milk.

3. Chicks are debeaked without anaesthetic to prevent them injuring each other in the unnaturally confined conditions they are kept in - this is equivalent to having your fingernails pulled out without anaesthetic.

Theres are so many other horrific facts like these, but these struck me the hardest.

I think things about the cattle are really what got to me. I live in a farm, and we raise cattle. But ours aren't sent to slaughter houses. We breed them, and they have over 1000 acres to roam on. The only ones who are killed are the bulls, but they aren't stunned, have their throats slit, or dipped in boiling water. They are simply shot in the head. But, still, i've always hated it...

Anyways, last year one of our female cows died of a broken leg. But she had just had a calf, like two weeks before that. So, when she died, i took the calf and bottle fed it for 7 months. When i first got him, he was no bigger than a medium sized dog, and he was scared out his mind. It took him about a week to actually eat out of the bottle, and eventually he would come running when he saw me walking out there. I named him butch. He became the sweetest thing, and when he was old enough to eat grass and feed, I moved him from the barn out to the field with the other cows. He's a little more than a year old now, and he weighs about 400 pounds. I've made my grandpa swear that he will never sell him. See, he'll never be big enough for them to want to eat him, but he is big enough to breed. So, my grandpa agreed that next year he'll be a breeding bull, and from then on thats what he'll do. So, when he dies, it will be of old age or sickness. Hopefully, thats not fo a really long time though. :)

When animals feel pain, they scream too.
So, im going vegetarian.

God, I love Khardan so much....lol. I missed you guys!!!!!!!!!!!

Sage: Huhhh

<<< Yucky post-workout Sage.
You'll enjoy this though. Aris CALLED me to ask why I wasn't coming. enjoyed that too much being a cougar and all. lol.

EXCERPT. Because I ACTUALLY wrote something. It's sad that it takes me putting off writing an essay in order to sit down and write, but whatever. At least it's something.

Charlotte
I failed.
The feeling of your own body breaking is not one I would wish on anyone. Doctors are able to place a label to the pain: Renal Failure, Heart Disease... cancer. They're words. They coat it, make it understandable for your family and friends. because words are easy. When they send you to therapy because you refuse to stop taking your medication, or because you don't want to attend chemo therapy, they label you. They make you sound like such a failure, that you want to go back to puking in basins and having a nurse change your bed pan because you're too weak to get up and use the bathroom by yourself. You want to go back to that place, because the look on your boyfriends face when he hears that yes, in fact, you will guarenteeably die now, is too much to bear.
I believe that they chose to call it a 'failure' for a much more sadistic reason then they let on. When that part of your body stops functioning properly, it shuts down. It fails you. When your whole body shuts down... you become one, inescapable, exhausted, pale, sick, failure.

SAD SHIT.
But I had an emotional day.
There you go.

Sarah: Quote

Kyle Frayne loveeeee! (He's my MC's friend).

It’s like this:

You have to have the nicest hair, the skinniest jeans, the pretties smile and the smallest waist. Your hair just can’t get frizzy, your teeth have to be straight without braces and you most certainly can’t wear glasses in public. You have to go to parties, have everyone say hi to you in the halls, pose like this, flip your perfect hair and ‘smile baby for the camera’. You have to have the right purse, the right friends, buy this, say that, be this person, fit into a tiny little mold of what is acceptable because that’s just how it is. There is a very tin line between being yourself and being who they want to be. But you, Lulu, you don’t walk on the right side of that line. No, you own the ground your feet touch and you don’t care who the hell gets in your way. When they gave you the choice, you told them “Screw all of that”. And you said it to their face.

Sarah: you guys HAVE to do this!

I found this super fun meme/quiz. It lets you take a break from "serious" writing and helps you develop characters. Here's mine! Use the questions and your own people! Post it because I'd love to read it!

OC Meme

Choose ten of your original characters (doesn’t have to all be from the same story) by drawing random names from a hat. If you don’t have ten, fill in the blanks with awesome people (real or fake).

1. Quincie (new book)

2. Nate (new book)

3. Ben (Falling Away With You)

4. Liv (Falling Away With You)

5. Bandit Jones (The Misadventures)

6. Chase Coleman (My first original character who is a genetically modified solider who basically doesn’t have a heart)

7. Dean Winchester (HAWT.)

8. Jace Wayland (Mortal Instruments)

9. Ariel (the little mermaid…duh!)

10. Noah Puckerman (Puck from Glee)

Four invites three and eight to dinner. What happens?

Liv: *Staring at Jace*

Ben: What is it with you man? What do you have that I don’t?

Jace: Rugged good looks? A sarcastic, witty sense of humor? Teen angst?

Nine tries to get five to go to a strip club.

Ariel: Oh, come on, it’ll be fun! Please!

Bandit: Do you even know what a strip club is, Princess? (I hate Midnight, I hate Midnight…)

You need to stay at a friend’s house for a night, who do you choose, one or six?

Me: Hey, Chase. These guys in black vans are tailing my car and I need a place to crash near someone who will shoot to protect me—

Chase: In black vans? Where? *does a back flip, cart wheel and grabs a gun from the ceiling. Commences to pull me into the house and place me in a cramped panic room.*

Me: Uh…Thanks.

Two and seven are making out. Ten walks in. What is their reaction?

Nate and Dean: *making out* (WTF?!?)

Puck: I’m not even going to touch that one.

Three falls in love with six. Eight is jealous. What happens?

Ben: But I thought I loved Liv? Didn’t we spend two books on that?

Chase: Just go with it, hottie! You’re a werewolf right? (Wait…don’t I kill those, Sarah?)

Ben: Fine! I love you, Chase!

Jace: *bitch face on* I don’t think so! She was mine first!

Chase: Huh? You don’t even know me!

Jace: Let’s run away together, my love!

Ben: I’m going to see Liv.

Jace: Aren’t you going to fight for her or something?

Chase: I don’t need a man to fight for me! *grabs Jace, throws him to the ground, ties his hands and feet together and holds a knife to his throat.*

Jace: Well, if you like it rough…

Four jumps you in a dark alleyway. Who comes to your rescue: ten, two, or seven?

Liv: I demand another book! Who ends a series after two?!?!

Me: *so stunned I can’t move*

Dean: Better watch it, girly. I know how to kill all things spooky, even puny little witches.

Liv: Is that…Dean Winchester?

Dean: That’s right. Better drop her or the puppy’s next. *points to Ben unconscious on the ground*

Liv: Ben! *rushes to help him*

Me: *runs to Dean and kisses him (I SO wish)* My hero!

One decides to start a cooking show. What is happening fifteen minutes later?

Quincie: Who the f*** eats this s***? Asparagus with jelly? Where are the bacon and eggs?

(Whole kitchen is on fire)

Three has to marry eight, four, or nine. Who do they choose?

(Bathorolette type scenario)

Ben: *holding a rose*

Liv, Jace, and Ariel: *waiting expectantly*

Ben: You are all amazing but I have to choose…Ariel!

Ariel: Yay! A werewolf boyfriend!

Liv: Excuse me?

Jace: *wipes sweat off of forehead* Guess I better go find Clary…

Seven “kidnaps” two and demands something from five for two’s release. What is it?

Dean: *on phone* I have your boyfriend.

Bandit: *also on phone* WHY DOES EVERYONE THINK ME AND MIDNIGHT ARE DATING?!

Dean: Midnight? Who the hell is Midnight?

Everyone gangs up on three. Does he/she have a chance in hell?

Ben: *furslopes into a werewolf*

(Me: ‘nuf said)

Everyone is invited to two and ten’s wedding except for eight. How does he/she react?

Nate and Puck: *About to say I do*

Jace: Wait…weren’t you just making out with Dean?

Nate: *looks nervous* Why do I always get put in the gay situations?!

Why is six afraid of seven?

Chase: *pointing a gun at Dean* You’re fancy guns won’t kill me! HAHAHAH!

Dean: Well, this is new.

Me: Go on and get her Dean.

Dean: Well, what is she?

Me: A genetically modified human whose skin is indestructible and unable to have any pierce it but…oh, I didn’t get that far…

Dean: Welp...let’s hit the road!

Me: Yay! The impala! Play classic rock, Dean!

One arrives late for two and ten’s wedding. What happens and why were they late.

Nate and Puck: *about to say I do*

Quincie: *covered in demon blood* Oh, I just found a nasty one in your basement, Nate... *looks up* WHAT THE HELL?

Five and nine get roaring drunk and end up at your house. What happens?

Bandit: Why’d you do this to me?! Midnight HAD to come back, didn’t he! UGH!

Ariel: Hehehe! Martinis are yummy!

Me: Uh…hi? (I MUST be on something…)

Nine murders two’s best friend. What does two do to get back at them?

Nate: Hehehe. She’ll never expect this! *uses one of Quincie’s books to resurrect Ursula so she can take over the sea and destroy Ariel for good*

Six and one are in mortal danger. Does six save himself/herself or one?

Chase: Don’t worry. We’ll get through this.

Quincie: But one of us has to die. Didn’t you read the question?

Chase: Well, okay then. *shoots Quincie* Problem solved.

Eight and three go camping but forget to bring any food. What do they do?

Jace: Well, I’ve killed demons, vampires, faeries, werewolves—

Ben: You’ve killed WHAT?!

Jace: That’s right, pup. A few rabbit shouldn’t be too hard.

Five is in a car crash and is critically injured. What does nine do?

Bandit: *groans*

Ariel: BLOOD! AAAAAHHHH!
