Heather: My First Attempt.

I found my very first attempt at ever writing a book. I was twelve, and it's pure crap, but it was also the first time I ever wrote anything outside of school:

      Thump.
Ashley woke with a start. Pulling her long strawberry blond hair back in a ponytail, she hollered “Mom, is that you?” She glanced over at the clock beside her bed 12:30 a.m. She realized that her mother wasn't due home for another two hours. She suddenly wished she hadn't called out because downstairs was now silent.

Ashley heard quiet footsteps coming up the stairs. Walking down the hall toward her room. There was nowhere for her to go, so she turned bravely forward and watched amazed as three broad men walked into her room. Ashley was amazed because, well, these men were not your average robbers. They were armed with swords.
“Time to go” said the man who Ashley guessed was in charge, he was tall and broad shouldered with blond hair and cold blue eyes. “Grab hold of her and don't let go,” he commanded.
The other two men both about medium height with strong builds grabbed Ashley's arms on both sides in steely grips. Then the leader did a strange thing. He lifted the locket he was wearing over his head and opened it. Ashley had to close her eyes because of the bright flash of light that had seemingly come out of the man's locket. When finally she thought it safe to open her eyes, she saw the most amazing, wondrous and beautiful thing she had ever seen.
She was standing in a palace courtyard surrounded by flowers of every color, wells and stone paths and a palace so large and wonderful that she had to take a few steps back just to see the sheer size of it. The men beside her just laughed at the awestruck look on her face.

There's a lot more, but this is the gist of it. Hahah, I just figured I would share that with you, despite, you know, it's suckage. ;')
